Herr Schnoodle & McBee

Herr Schnoodle & McBee is a 2006 mystery and comedy novel written by P.K. Paranya. And it’s quite a strange one at that.
Alexander McBee is an account. Or, rather, he was; but now he’s changed jobs into something altogether different - a private investigator. Working with him is his partner, Herr Schnoodle, a mixed poodle and schnauzer, whom McBee finds injured one day. Together they set out to right the wrongs of the world, one case at a time.
And that’s literal. They solve some of the most mundane and strange cases imaginable, from stolen shopping carts to a missing cat. McBee starts to gain recognition; but, as he always sadly notes, it’s actually Herr Schnoodle who manages to solve the cases, and not McBee. This saddens McBee just a bit.
But when a reporter named Apple Sally gains an interest in McBee and needs help, it’s McBee to the rescue - a rescue that will help him come out of his shell and do what needs to be done.
